OSTEOPATHY came first for me so lets start with that. Osteopathy is a hands on approach to health care, it is used to diagnose and treat a wise range of musculoskeletal conditions. Treatments delivered by an Osteopath are unique to each presenting client and work to enhance the bodies movement in order for it to function at its very best. And they don’t just treat backs… Osteopathy can help with a number of presentations including, but not exclusively;

  • Acute and Chronic Back pain

  • Neck pain and associated headaches

  • Pregnancy related postural changes

  • Arthritic Discomfort

  • SportING injuries

  • Frozen shoulder

  • Tennis / Golfer’s elbow

  • Sciatica

  • Neuralgia

I choose to study Osteopathy because of a huge passion for health/wellbeing/lifestyle – I appreciate the need for modern medicine and bow down to the work of Doctors and Surgeons, however I think we can benefit a lot from a more holistic preventative approach if we understand our own bodies and their imbalances. I studied at Oxford Brookes and loved every minute of my time there – it got even better when I found the Yoga Venue studio and that then became a pretty massive part of my life…

So YOGA – and oh boy has that been life changing. Yoga is a mind and body practice that began in India a pretty long time ago. It is a beautiful practice and there is really so much I could say here but for the sake of keeping it short and sweet there are 8 limbs of yoga, these 8 limbs (8 paths/8 aspects) are practiced by ‘yogis’ in order to refine how we behave, working towards a more conscious state.

Today most people practicing yoga are engaged in the third limb. This is asana – the physical postures which are designed to purify the body and provide the physical strength and stamina required for long periods of meditation. I practice yoga because it creates peace in my mind, for me it is meditation – its a no phone zone and thats a big bonus. I also love the challenge – the strength, the balance, the stamina.. and the patience it teaches me to let go of what doesn’t matter in the now. These reasons are also why I now teach and host retreats… Because its just MAGIC and I LOVE IT.

My TEACHING style is dialogue led – my classes are fluid, creative, dynamic, alignment focused and hands on (I love assisting, aligning, deepening and helping you to understand your practice). My inspiration comes from the amazing teachers I have been so PRIVILEGED to learn from and the styles of yoga I love… Vinyasa, Jivamukti, Rocket and Forrest Yoga.
