Melmerby Hall Retreat ~ 3rd – 6th November 2022
I can’t quite believe I am planning to November 2022, but we have just got back from our first Retreat back (since Covid) and it was so flipping fantastic to be with you all I can’t wait to share…
Our winter Retreats are designed to help you relax, to help you re-charge and to leave you feeling nourished and aligned for the year ahead.
Melmerby Hall is beautiful, it has welcomed almost 150 of you now and has been the home to many of our Retreats. There are a variety of twin and double rooms all with a lovely En Suite bathroom.
Movement is medicine.. and sharing practice in the stunning studio at Blencowe is something special.
The Retreat will include a variety of practices; yoga, pilates and meditation.
Our morning class will be a more energising uplifting Pilates style practice whilst the evening will be a more steady and gentle yet strong practice. Our evening classes will close with a guided meditation to leave you feeling wonderfully relaxed as you float to dinner.
I have incorporated these because when we last Retreated there was a lot of conversation about injuries and niggles around the dining table, and I would also like to help you learn more about your yoga / pilates practice. I hope these workshops will ensure you go home with an improved, safer and stronger practice.
Posture & Injury Clinic – Learn how to relive common problems (tech neck, tight shoulders, painful lower back) and how to strengthen so that you avoid these injuries in the future. There will also be time for a Q & A so that we can troubleshoot anything you are struggling with.
Practice Breakdown – Yoga and Pilates aren’t easy, we all know that and sometimes when class is flowing / moving I dont have the time to help you refine and adjust your practice. That is where this workshop comes in… together we will look at the most common bad habits, where repetition can cause injury in the practice and how you can build the strength needed for yoga and pilates.
*If you are new to yoga or pilates please don’t be put off by attending a Retreat – you are always welcome and you will be guided through the weekend at your own pace. If you have a more experienced practice we are here for you to, we have plenty of time together over the course of the retreat and I strive to ensure you leave with a deeper understanding of your body and feeling more connected to your practice.
You will be able to compliment the effort you physically put into the weekend by booking a treatment. There will be individual treatments and spa packages available to pre book nearer the time.
Maybe my favourite part of the Retreat? Our chefs will put together a delicious menu that will be wholesome, nourishing and healthy. Not only that, but we hope the menu inspires you to return to your own kitchen. Our focus is to introduce you to some new dishes; dishes that are hearty and healthy, plant based and flavoursome, home cooked and heavenly. Where possibly all of our ingredients will be locally sourced, fresh and organic.
Free time on the retreat is yours to enjoy as you wish. The surrounding grounds provide the perfect space to clear you mind and wonder. Or if you are more adventurous and fancy lacing up your hiking boots then you can join us for a guided walk. If that all sounds far to strenuous and you simply wish to curl up by the fire with a book, a herbal tea or a hot chocolate then we have the perfect setting for you too.
