MAISON DE LA VAURE ~ 4th to the 10th June 2022

 

My goodness we have waited a long time for this Retreat…

I have previously hosted this summer Retreat in beautiful Tuscany, however after our last trip I came across a new stunning purpose built venue that blew me away and I decided to move our week here. I believe the magic of Maison De La Vaure (Chillac, France) will make our Retreat together even more special.

This 16th Century former Cognac Estate provides us with the perfect setting for a Retreat; amongst spacious grounds facilities include a purpose built yoga /  fitness studio and large heated swimming pool. The rooms are also beautifully designed and set across three stunning houses.

CLASSES

There will be a real mix of classes on this Retreat. For me cross training has always been important in terms of optimising my own health and I host this week so that I can share that with you.

In the mornings we will enjoy a more dynamic practice. This class will be strong but steady, helping you to understand your bodies and connect with the intricacies of the exercises. There will also be lots of verbal and hands on assistance to ensure that you learn and benefit from our time away.

My teaching is very anatomical and alignment based, I can confidently say you will take away several simple exercises that work wonders on the strength of your core and lower back – great for injury prevention.

In the evenings we will enjoy a gentle practice with guided meditation. Super restorative and relaxing, this class will allow you to drift into the evening and a deep nourishing sleep.

If you are new to yoga or pilates please don’t be put off by attending a Retreat – you are always welcome and you will be guided through the weekend at your own pace. Classes meet you where you are at – there is never any expectation from me or reason to you to force yourself into anything uncomfortable.

If you do have a more experienced practice we are here for you to, we have plenty of time together over the course of the week and I strive to ensure you leave with a deeper understanding of your body, a stronger practice and a feeling of greater connection.

FOOD

We will enjoy a nourishing, vibrant, healthy and wholesome menu. The food will all be sourced locally so expect lots of delicious fresh flavours – everything we serve with be plant based, sugar free and organic where possible.

We hope the food you enjoy over the week will fuel your activities but also inspire you to return home to your own kitchen. We can cater for any dietary requirements as long as we know in advance.

We want you to enjoy your meals, to sit and to celebrate the delicious food and the wonderful company.

FREE TIME

Free time throughout the week is yours to enjoy as you wish. These Retreats are there to hold space for challenge and activity but also rest and relaxation. There is a pool at the property and we will experience wall to wall sunshine – so if you bring a book or two you can lie back and unwind.

TRAVEL

The venue is approximitely an hours drive from Bordeaux airport. Those who wish to hire a car then have the luxury of exploring the surrounding area. However if you would rather be collected from the airport I can arrange this for you.
